2024 BOP Family History Month

Bay of Plenty libraries have collaborated to promote Family History Month across the Bay of Plenty and raise awareness of the resources our libraries have to offer those interested in researching their family history.

Come along and learn some tips and tricks to getting started, from the Western Bay of Plenty District Council in-house Archivist, Sandra Haigh, Community Heritage Services Co-ordinator.

Bring your fully-charged laptop or tablet to explore your free access to popular genealogy websites FindMyPast and Ancestry library editions - and you’ll take home a free New Zealand Family History starter pack with pedigree charts!
