2026 NZ Children's Book Week
What's On at our Western Bay Libraries
Read New Zealand Te Pou Muramura is leading the first ever New Zealand Children's Book Week, with the theme "Reading Around Aotearoa", and we’ve got a full week of book-themed activities planned at our Western Bay Libraries! In addition to the workshops listed below, there will also be a Book Character Scavenger Hunt set-up at all four branches.

Interested in Writing? Workshops for Children and Adults

Join our fun and interactive writing workshops with talented local authors Angie Belcher, Rebecca Larson, and Kiri-Michelle Mohi. Bring the kids along after school for an engaging, hands-on session filled with creativity, inspiration, and storytelling fun. Adults can explore their own writing journey through a supportive and interactive workshop led by experienced local authors.
Suitable for all experience levels. Free and no pre-registration required – just show up! Come along, get inspired, and discover the writer within!
